Consular services are by appointment only as a general rule.
Make sure that you book your appointment well in advance of your planned date of departure. Our Consulate is extremely busy so you might get the appointment only 6-8 weeks after your call.
Our consulate do not have urgent or emergency visa, not even in special cases.
The visa procedure usually takes 21 days.
From 15th of September 2017 Schengen Visa applications are outsourced from the Embassy. For applying short stay (not longer than 90 days) Schengen Visa at the Embassy of Hungary please click on the link below and book an appointment with VFS:
Appointments for submitting D type visa applications (residence permits) shall be requested only by phone: (00 98) (21) 2255-0482, (00 98) (21) 2259 6020, (00 98) (21) 2255 0452, (00 98) (21)2255 0460, (00 98) (21) 2255 0471 from Sunday to Thursday from 9:30 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 15:30.
Attestation requests can be lodged only on Thursdays between 9:30 and 12:30.
Please make sure that you arrive in time for your appointment. In case you cannot come for your appointment you should cancel it in advance. No-shows cannot get new appointments for another two months.
The Consulate is closed on Hungarian and Iranian public holidays.

Family members of EU/EEA nationals are entitled to a faster and free of charge application procedure which also requires less supporting documents. For further information about getting an appointment please check How to get an apopintment section of the website.
Please note, that only parents, children and spouses are considered as family members of EU/EEA citizens according to the Schengen Visa Code. In cases of Hungarian citizens family members are including parents, children, spouses and in-laws as well.
The Embassy of Hungary does not accept individual tourist visas. If you wish to travel to Hungary for touristic purposes please get in touch with one of the embassy's trusted travel agencies.
Please note that in most of the cases the Consulate only receives the applications and forward them to the competent Hungarian authority, therefore the Consulate cannot accelerate the procedures. If you wish to get an update about your case please contact directly the competent Hungarian authority.
Mere possession of a uniform Schengen visa or a visa with limited territorial validity shall not confer an automatic right of entry to the Schengen Zone.
